Length-weight relationship and condition factor of three endemic fish species, Ponticola bathybius, Neogobius caspius and N. pallasi (Perciformes: Gobiidae) from the Southern Caspian Sea basin, Iran

In this study, the length-weight relationships (LWRs) and condition factors were estimated for 445 specimens belonging to three gobiid species viz. Ponticola bathybius (Kessler, 1877), Neogobius caspius (Eichwald, 1831) pallasi (Berg, 1916) from Southern Caspian Sea basin. Total length total weight of examined ranged 4.9-28.3 cm 0.64-263.4 g, respectively. The parameter b studied found between 2.47 (N. caspius) 3.45 pallasi) with r2 ranging 0.831 0.988. LWR K parameters are reported first time N. factor was calculated 0.94 0.98 1.00 (P. bathybius). basic biological information on LWRs these gobies will be useful as baseline further research in region.
